extend compassion rather than anger towards him
I read your post today and it inspired me to write a response, here it is.
I had a horrible experience yesterday where someone came at me with aggression. I was able to remove myself quickly, and I spent the rest of my day feeling sorry for the guy and trying to extend compassion rather than anger towards him. I realized that I had put myself on a pedestal over him thinking that I was better than him and that is not compassion. I am still working on processing it and learning how to reflect on the incident without judgement.
